I've been sporting the safari trend for a few seasons now. Mainly because it's a very easy to wear and versatile type of style. It's perfect for the hot and humid spring/summer months. Khaki and olive tones are my reigning classics. However, I am loving the new take on this trend...tribal prints, animal prints, and utility detailing.

How To Wear It
* Keep a neutral color palette of taupe, khaki, and chestnut brown and introduce safari elements in the form of animal prints (leopard, snakeskin, and zebra) and tribal prints.
* Accessorize with natural textures such as canvas, straw, raffia, and leather.
* Mix one safari piece with a dressier, feminine/softer, or bold colorful piece.
* There's no need to deck yourself out from head to toe in safari gear...unless you're actually planning on taking an expedition through the Sahara.

When To Wear It
* Basically you can rock this trend/style almost anytime, anywhere.
* For work or church, mix and match safari attire with business attire. Pair cropped dress slacks with a utility inspired button-up blouse and heels. Or pair a cargo inspired pencil skirt with a belted cardigan and heels.
* For evening/formal wear consider safari-inspired tones (olive, khaki, and muddy browns) in luxurious fabrics (silk, lace, chiffon, etc).
* For a fun night out with friends or with that special someone, add a bit of sparkle and shine to this simple trend. Incorporate a piece of jewelry that makes a statement (a bib necklace, jeweled bangles, chandelier earrings, etc).
